Optimising The Team - The Programme
- Focus - In difficult times people can easily become very problem focused. This is counter-productive because achievement requires a focus on success. When we agree the outcome for today, this week, this month, this year, for the duration of the project, we create a momentum for achievement. Having crystal clear outcomes is crucial to success in any team endeavour. Creating a focused state of mind is a skill which can be learnt.
- Mind and Body - Fine tuning mind and body is vital. Daily routines which access positive states of mind and body are essential to efficiency and continuing success. These simple routines help to improve not only the way in which individuals operate but also improve communication as people take more personal responsibility for their optimising their own minds, attitudes, beliefs and physical actions.
- Flexibility - Everyone knows that change requires new learning and many people have yet to learn how much easier it is to make changes than it is to stay stuck in a mindset and a routine which no longer work. Developing the habits of flexibility, utilising team strengths and getting rid of all the sacred cows is essential if teams are to be responsive to challenge.
- Free Communication - Free Communication is a specific discipline in which people learn to say exactly what is on their mind without fear of censure. They also learn how to say things in a way which will increase the chances of successful communication. Using a simple filter, everyone in the team learns quickly to distinguish between 'negative' stories, attributions and beliefs and positive ways of constructing their interpretations of reality. People learn how to frame things in a way which induces positive responses in themselves and amongst others. Free Communication dramatically changes the way people think and communicate with one another so that conflicts are managed efficiently and positively with all the relevant outcomes firmly in focus.
- Anchoring Success - Success is 90% attitude and 10% skill/knowledge. You can always access new skills and knowledge, but attitude is something we each individually have to be able to create and sustain minute by minute and day by day. This is why having an anchor or two makes such a huge difference. Knowing that we can access an attitude through a given physical posture, a key word, an internal image, or simply by pressing the right 'button', is the difference between success and failure.
- People love this session - because it provides them with the solution to the solution problem - how do I keep coming up with solutions as things get tougher and tougher? By anchoring a solution focused mindset! Doing this in teams significantly enhances the effect because there is always one person in a team at any given moment ready to access and reinforce the anchor for everyone else. By chaining these anchors together people quickly learn how to turn disasters into triumphs without even stopping to have a moan en route!
- Team Meeting Monitoring - This process extends Free Communication allowing teams to develop stronger and more dynamic ways of running important meetings and getting the best results from these. By introducing some key principles as a basis for all meetings, teams rapidly become more self-sufficient, task focused and outcome oriented.
