AnxietyIf you suffer over anxiety, worry, panic attacks, or just feel anxious for no reason then relax. There are fast and simple ways to treat anxiety and panic without medication.Natural anxiety is misunderstood. People experience anxiety in all kinds of situations. Anxiety is simply nature's way of telling you to pay attention to something. Unfortunately, with the help of the media we are in danger of becoming Anxiety UK! Of course you can get drugs and anti-anxiety medication. Some people also self medicate with alcohol, cigarettes and emotional eating, but this tends to lead to habits which make the problem worse rather than better. None of this is going to solve the problem long term and all of these approaches can cause even more distress. Many anti-anxiety drugs are not intended to be used for more than 2 weeks. If you are on these kinds of drugs, however, DO consult your doctor before stopping, as there can be withdrawal symptoms. The fact of the matter is that some anxiety is useful, even essential to survival. The anxiety response (sometimes referred to as the flight or fight response) is what keeps you safe when crossing the road, or engaging in potentially hazardous activities and occupations. Where it becomes a problem is when we inadvertently start paying to much attention to anxiety; especially anxiety that is out of date or redundant. Become Less Anxious, More Relaxed, Less Nervous and Have More Fun!When people say things like 'Don't worry' and 'Don't be anxious' they are doing their best to help you. And when we tell ourselves not to be anxious, not to worry or be nervous, we too are doing our best to steer clear of panic attacks and nervous breakdown. The problem is, that unconsciously we are focusing on the very feelings and sensations which we associate with anxiety, worry, panic, stress and nervous tension. To optimise your anxiety response (that is, to keep anxiety at a healthy, life enhancing level) you need to start putting as much time into focusing on the oppositie of anxiety, panic, worry and nervous fantasising, as you are putting into anxiety, panic, worry and nervous fantasising! It's called relaxing! Sleep helps too! 'I'm too anxious to relax. I worry until the anxiety turns into a panic attack!'If that's you, then well done! You are obviously very good at focusing on your feelings and you now excel at generating anxiety, worry and panic. With a bit more practicie and dedication you could generate more panic attacks or even a nervous breakdown (whatever one of those is)! But here's the GOOD NEWS! If you can escalate and amplify your feelings of anxiety by paying more and more attention to these feelings and sensations, then you can apply exactly the same approach to relaxation! By paying more and more attention to positive feelings and sensations you become an expert at generating these feelings instead. It takes a little practice at first and you will certainly benefit from a few simple hypnotherapy sessions together with repeated use of the HBT Anxiety CD, available as soon as you have had your first hypnotherapy session. Hypnotherapy: Relax using the same strategy you used to get anxious! The myth of hypnosis and hypnotherapists is that they somehow take control of your mind. The reality is, the oppositie is true. We teach you self-hypnosis. We teach you to relax easily and comfortably and we give you more control over your anxiety, panic, worry and stress than you have ever imagined possible. And we do it fast! It can take as few as 2 or 3 sessions at our Bournemouth Hypnotherapy office to systematically reverse lifetime habits of anxiety, worry and panic, turning these into equally powerful abilities to relax, stay calm and feel safe in any situation where it is safe and appropriate to do so. We will also come to you if required. Hypnotherapy for Anxiety, Panic, Worry | ||||||
